My daughter, who loves to surf cast nearly as much as I do, sent me this photo today from the gulf. She thought it might substitute for a sand flea as bait, but with no luck.

It’s an ugly little critter. I joked that maybe it was a Frankencrab created by BP, but then I started reading.

The reports of mutations and horrors beginning to appear in the gulf of Mexico wildlife are terrifying.

The tourist ads make it look normal now, but we all know it isn’t, don’t we.
